Congrats Genesis and Julio - Our First Endorsed Candidates

Yesterday at our meeting, we voted to endorse Genesis Aquino for NY State Assembly and Julio Peña III for District Leader.

Of all the great candidates in the races, we felt they were the best to represent their communities of Sunset Park, Red Hook, and parts of other surrounding neighborhoods.

Genesis Aquino has been a local advocate for years, fighting for fair and affordable housing, immigrant rights, and workplace protections, recently winning a campaign to protect laundry workers and compensate them for years of wage theft. She will bring that energy and drive to the New York State Assembly.

Julio Peña III was born, raised and lives to this day in Sunset Park working in education. He has always striven to help his community, serving as Vice-Chairman of Community Board 7, the board chair of Neighbors Helping Neighbors, and helping found and serve on the Executive Committee of this very club. He will bring transparency, equity, and accountability to the state and county Democratic parties.

Congratulations to Genesis Aquino and Julio Peña III. We look forward to helping you achieve victory!
